WikiHistory
Anyone who has ever taken the time to read a few of the wikipedia discussion boards, especially on contentious issues (say... this discussion about the article on serbs) has got to read this short story by Desmond Warzel, and published in Abyss & Apex. It's based around the idea of "editing" history with a time machine, and the group of hard-core volunteers who revert ill-advised edits made by new members. Very funny. (PS: If you don't konw what I'm talking about, it probably isn't worth digging in to find out).

Mormon Theology

A conversation today about Mormon Theology (stovepipe hats with golden tablets and magic stones inside), led me to look over the wiki page about mormonism. Several surfs later, I'd discovered some fascinating things, including that the mormon stance on Adam (the progenitor of the human race) is that he was the physical incarnation of the Archangel Michael, who was also one of three beings involved in the creation of the world (Yahweh, Elohim, and Michael). Additionally, Noah (of ark fame) was actually the physical incarnation of the angel Gabriel. Fascinating stuff.
It sounds pathetic, but the internet (and specifically, Wikipedia) has just made my life immeasurably better. I'd never have come up with this info before the internet. But now I know... and knowing is half the battle! (Thanks, Joe!)

Oscar the WTF?!?
Once again, I'm probably the last to know about this but, in the off chance that I'm not, I thought I'd share. Oscar the grouch was originally yellow. Yes, yellow. Then, after the first episode of Sesame Street, he was suddenly orange. Only in Season 2 did he turn green. WTF? Why have I never heard this before? It takes some schmuck on a comment board to alert me to this fact? Where were all of you? Sheesh. If it weren't for the internet, I wouldn't know anything.

Mozart Canon
Just saw this wiki article about a supposed Mozart song. The history on this is a bit short, so I'm not sure if I should believe it or not. After looking at the discussion page, however, I'd have to say this looks real. Can't wait to hear Fergie do a version of this.
