Congrats to TheWife!

The big news this week is that TheWife has accepted a different job at Head Monk Pharma. Starting November 26th, she'll be working in the Clinical Research department. Not sure of the actual title, but she'll basically be a Clinical Research Associate (althought it might be Associate or Assistant or something).

Plusses on the new job: better opportunity for promotion without a higher degree, and it's something she's wanted to do forever.

Minusses on the new job: it's a lateral-ish move, and there's no extra money, but she'll have to wear better clothes to work. And there'll be some travel which is more of a negative for me than for her. If this had happened a year ago (with an infant in the house), I'd have gone into complete panic mode.

Based on TheWife's experience, I'm making my own career plans. First, TheWife needs to get promoted 2 or 3 times, until she's raking in the really big bucks. Then, I'll just retire and start working on all of those projects that keep piling up (the sci-fi novel, etsy & ebay selling, photography, gardening, geocaching, surfing the internet, and napping). Personally, I think it's an excellent plan!
