Paternity Log 1.1 - Bonkus'd Cronkus

Even before TW left today, I've caused problems. Besides the usual schedule adjustments, I made The Boy scream bloody murder right before TWand TG walked out the door. I thought I'd try the Baby Bjorn. TW assured me that it would fit over my monstrous belly, and it turned out she was right. The problem? While loading the boy into it, I smacked the tender top of his head into the side of the crib. A banshee wail arose for the wee one. This keening posessed a tone, vibrato and volume such that communication was impossible. Great, just what TW needed on her first day back to work. She was already sad to leave The Boy behind. Now I've made it worse. I feel like a total schmuck. I'll have to make sure tommorrow morning goes better.

I see you still have the crumbcatcher. Nice. Don't sweat the wailing - it was bound to happen. You're a man, you can't help it. However, since you have opted for paternity leave, which affords you the opportunity to spend 24/7 with TB, you'll soon find your groove. I commend you for your decision. Far too few men have the desire (or the patience) to be a SAHD, even for a short time. It's a tough job, but somebody's got to do it. :)

Word verification definition:
"yuvyjwb" - the occuption of looking after children, much as you are doing right now.

Poppgrrl is right. I can't tell you how many people TW and I know where the TH is incapable of even a couple of hours of babysitting much less a two week leave. And most of them only have one. Pathetic really. As far as the bumped head goes , don't worry. As Tootall can confirm, boys will have some spectactular wipouts. Most of which don't seem to phase them.

urwyj - the sound that comes out of your mouth in an futile attempt of a warning. Usually just milliseconds before the boy plows his bike into the side of the garage.
