2008 beijing olympics mascots

I didn't know they'd been announced! There are five mascots for the 2008 Olympics, apparently because China is so big, it needs more mascots than a tiny little country like... South Korea for instance, who only had one. The linked page shows their official portraits, their inspiration, and some action shots of the critters performing in Olympic events. All together, the five critters are being referred to as 'The Friendlies'. With that in mind, I think I'd have left out the picture at right, if I were them.
