Seven years at Head Monk Pharmaceuticals, as of today, September 14th. And only13 more unti lI can take early retirement. Thirteen years holed up in a lab while the CEO plunders the company coffers, and HR and QA fight over who runs the company. BTW: QA, you're losing. An example: our annual self-evaluations are due September 30th. They are to cover all of 2005. I beg your f*cking pardon? How am I supposed to evaluate my accomplishments this year when the year is barely 3/4 over? And they make us do all of this career development crap that isn't about career development at all - its about defending themselves when a group of employees who are all one-legged vietnam vets realize that none of them are in upper management and sue for discrimination. Or if not that, then it's about finding a way to increase their headcount. Which brings us to the official reason for the early self-eval due date: HR is going to review all of our reviews this year, to make sure they're appropriate. What's next? Are we all going to be assigned HR handlers that will rate our work quality and make sure we don't cross into inappropriate work-place behavior?
Anyone know of a company with a Personnel department (not an HR department, please) who wants to hire a chemist?
