Looks like an old ruin, but it's actually newer. Designed by Mary Coulter in the 30's (? I think). Somehow, she managed to load the structure with a realistic feeling of ancientness (Thesaurus check!) Word is that she personally approved each stone, and even specifically guided the placement of some stones. A real pain in the ass to work for, but it seems to have been worth it!
And the view! This one is out of the window on the third floor of the tower. I guess there's an observation platform, too, but that was closed due to the recent storms, and the risk of lightning strikes. Good thought, eh?
