A new flavor of freeze pop

We all remember those little plastic tubes filled with frozen fruit drink, right. They were called freeze pops, or something like that. A staple of summer treats in my neighborhood. Well, this company in Texas has developed a new flavor. Are you ready? OK, then here it is - pickle juice. Yes, pickle juice pops. They call them Pickle Sickles. Heh.

When you hear this idea, you will have one of two responses:

1) Where can I get them?!?
2) Who in the hell would want a pickle-flavored freeze pop?!?

I think that those of us in camp one have, at one time or another, secretly drunk pickle juice. I'll admit it, I've done it. And I liked it. So there! And I know I'm not alone. I know that I share thelove of this delicacy with at least one other person (who shall remain nameless until and unless they reveal themself). And those of you in camp two... one you try this, you're going to love it. I'm keeping the freezer stocked with these this summer. If I can find them.

I LOVE pickle juice. There have been times when I have run low on 'Dirty' for my 'Henricks Martini Dirty-up' that I have considered going with pickle juice. I may well have already...by the time I run out the night has become a blurr. Isn't there a hand over cure that inlcudes pickle juice. This could be a win-win if I can add the hangover cure to my martini.....I'll be unstopable!!

so the crazy gene does run in the family! (re: middle bro's comment) I can't believe there are other people out there that love pickle juice...YUCK! Our freezer WILL NOT be stocked with these horrible items this summer.

Sounds like the perfect adjunct to a fine Pickled Pete!

I'm just going to happily take your word for that, nemo. Although I am quite aware that pickled pete is fun to eat, I am also aware that it smells like feet, and (thank god I'm a vegetarian) made of meat. So I won't be partaking. Pickle Sickles on the other hand... yummmmmm.

Sadly the Pickled Pete has been discontinued. I'm not sure when but it's been a few years now. As far as pickled popsicles go I could see Heiden trying one. He'll eat anything. :-)

Somebody else remembers Pickled Pete? This is a potent childhood memory...eating those nasty little sausages. I wish I knew who first produced these guys and why they stopped...
