Sunday's outing to Holiday Folk Fair was quite good. I managed to find the deep fried sesame buns at the hmong booth. Unfortunately, I opted to buy two of them at once. Apparently, this caused me to dramatically surpass the Recommend Daily Allowance for glutinous rice flour dough. The buns metamorphosed in my stomach, turning my doughy, over inflated stomach into a ... well, things were made worse, is what I'm trying to say. But the dancing was lovely. Both St. Sava Junior Dancers, and the other groups dancing in their set were excellent. My favorite kid (after my own darling girl, of course) was the littlest girl in the African-American group. Boundless energy, and she really knew her moves. That kid loved to dance! Videos of the serbian group are soon to come.
Then, yesterday was my in-laws' slava, or family saint day. The women had prepared a delicious feast which ran from cheese and sausage, garlic-marinated roasted red peppers, kajmak, ajvar, roast pork loin, roasted chicken, bok choi salad, serbian potato salad, cookies, and on and on. The Bro-in-Law and I tended to the drinks. We've developed a pretty nice selection of liquor over the years, and we bought about twice as much beer as we needed (as usual). Unfortunately, we made a small error on the Heinecken we bought. And by small, I mean that we bought the7 oz bottles, instead of the usual 12 ouncers. When a cluster of guys were standing around drinking them, it looked like a meeting of giants. Too bad we didnt have any pickled brussels sprouts, that would have completed the effect! My body and head are shredded right now, so this ost will have to do, until I manage to get some vids uploaded to youtube. (Ahhh, my aching head... and back).

It was good to see you guys again. As usual the food was outstanding. I'll try to put something together for this winter. Pass my gratitude on to all who helped in the preparation.
