Since I'm mentioning my Flickr account, I should probably mention my ongoing flickr project. I'm photographing chinese restaurant signs. As I describe it on Flickr.com:
Chinese restaurants are now plentiful the United States. The signs vary dramatically: from ornate creations in vibrant colors to strip-mall storefronts in black and white. This is a survey of some I've found.
I just think that some of these things are really cool. And it's kinda fun to be able to take pictures of them wherever I go on vacation. There are a couple of dozen photos so far, but I've been adding more as I come across them. Since I cover a good 70 north-south miles in my weekly travels, I've got a while to go before I exhaust the ones in my area. And there are plenty more to choose from after that. After all, what town doesn't have a chinese restaurant these days?
UPDATE: If anyone else has great chinese restaurant sign photos to contribute, you can add them to the new flickr.com pool I started.
