on my 'puter (I ripped the songs onto a second disc so that I wouldn't have to deal with their software every time I popped it into the drive) and I thought I'd look around the web on the topic of, no surprise, Norah Jones. Makeing my way to
Unofficially Norah Jones - FAQ, I find that Norah's dad is, big surprise, "Ravi Shankar"?!? Shut the hell up. No he isn't. But yes, after additional searches, I find that THE Ravi Shankar (of Beatles fame, not Head Monk DrugCo fame) is Norah Jones' father. Now, I suppose everyone else I know is already aware of this and just hasn't told me because they assumed I already knew. But WTF! How can this not be mentioned more frequently? I mean, shit! Ravi Shankar... internationally known sitar player and former Beatles compatriot is the father of Norah Jones. Well, dip me in shit and call me Trevor...

And Ione Skye of Say Anything fame is daughter of '60's acid-head rock star Donovan(Mellow Yellow, Sunshine Superman, Atlantis) as well. Sheesh, I thought you knew everything.
Well, heck, everybody knows that! even me :(
But then, I stumbled onto my parent's cache of Donovan records 20 years ago, and never looked back.
