Only 15551!

Ahhh! I got no writing at all done last night! After picking up The Kid at daycare, we headed down to the public library to wait for The Wife. When she showed up, we all went for dinner at Casablance of Mexico in downtown Racine. Good enough food (TW said it reminded her of the homecooking of her grade school friend's mom, back when she lived in Milwaukee's hispanic area). But, oh, the smoke. You walk in through the bar, and there's enough smoke that I thought I'd choke. Even in the non-smoking part of the restaurant, there was more smoke than in a typical restaurant smooking section. I think they should really invest in a restaurant grade air-handling system. It was ridiculous.
Anyway, after that, we headed down to Festival of Trees. It seemed kinda sparse this year. Not many people there (granted, it was a Tuesday night), and some of the trees were marked not for auction, though they were clearly intended to be auctioned. And there weren't as many trees, either, and those that were there had fewer goodies (gift certificates, toys, cooking supplies, etc.) than they had in previous years, focusing instead on just ornaments. There were a couple of excellent tree, though. My best of show award went to the Monkey Paradise tree. It was covered with brightly colored garlands of woven grass, palm trees, coconuts, and stuffed monkeys. It was brilliant! I hope I win it. The things I could do with a dozen identical sutffed monkeys... ahhhh. But, I forgot my cell phone in the car, so you'll have to head down there to see it. It's not really worth the $6 admission, but it's a fundraiser, so suck it up and just do it. God, you're so cheap!
By the time I got home, wrote up this week's menu (yeah, I write a weekly menu - you got a problem with that?) and grocery list, it was time for bed. Oh well, I guess that means I have to write more the rest of the week to get back ahead. Today, I'm targetting 2500 words! Wish me luck!
