Parental downside #5.

Parental downside #5:
Cleaning up puke at 1am on a weeknight.
Jeez, I'd swear, TK must have puked up her own weight tonight. And, of course, all over her bedroom carpet, except where it was into the partially open suitcase. sigh. at least TW dealt with the suitcase for me. I kept dry heaving every time I got within 10 feet of it. Yet, armed with a can of lysol spray, a bottle of carpet cleaner, a bottle of febreeze, and a bucket of luke warm water with rags, I cleaned up the carpet without incident. The Kid is dozing peacefully on the couch, and The Wife is dozing fitfullly in bed, but I can't sleep. Somehow being elbow deep in puke winds me up. Perhaps blogging will quiet me down.

While I can't say that here is a direct cause-and-effect connection here, I have to say I blame the coworker who insisted on coming in to work last week after spending the night throwing up. I mean how could TK have gotten the illness from her, since I never had the pukes? I suppose I might have dragged the little micro-devils home on my clothes... who knows? In any case, if people just stayed home when they were throwing up sick, they wouldn't be any possibility of being assigned blame when 6 year olds start throwing up. That's all I'm saying.

I'm sorry TK has been so sick lately and even more sorry that her sickness was making you ill. Sometimes I don't regret taking that softball in the nose. I have been trying to talk my TW into renting a carpet cleaner in the hope that we can control the "Kemper Problem." However, you appear to have a handy arsenal for such work. If we hired you for a nominal sum, do you think you could clean down to the padding?

Thanks, Greg. On the plus side, I got to stay home from work with her. On the down side, that means I was three days behind when I got back. I swear, I'll never understand how so much work can build up in one day.
